In Memory of Deborah (Debbie) Marie Ayers Blount (Dance ‘84)

 

May 20, 1966- December 25, 2007

 

Blount, Deborah Marie Ayers Deborah “Debbie” Marie Ayers Blount of Flower Mound, Texas, 41, was born to Deanna Marie Schiro and Keith Karl Ayers on May 20, 1966, in Kingsville, Texas. Debbie married Vincent Andrew McLean, Vincent Andrew McLean Jr, was born to them. They later divorced. She graduated, Summa Cum Laude, from High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston, receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree and was a school teacher. She married Gregory T. Blount, son of Thomas and the late Redenta Blount of Cottonwood Falls, on April 22, 1995, and Gabriella “Gabbie” Marie was born. She died at Zale Lipshy Hospital in Dallas, Texas on Dec. 25, 2007. Her funeral service was Dec. 29, 2007, in the Church of the Apostles, Coppell, Texas. She was cremated and will be laid to rest in a Columbarian, at the Church of the Apostles in Coppell, Texas. She is survived by her husband and children of the home; parents J.E. and Deanna Stubbs and Keith and Becky Ayers all of Houston; brothers, Keith Karl Ayers of League City, Texas; grandmother Ruth Amstutz Ayers, of Bluffton, Ohio; father-in-law, Thomas Blount of Cottonwood Falls. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leon Anthony and Edith Marie Bridges Schiro and Wilbur Ayers. She was an organ donor resulting in several recipients receiving the telephone call on Christmas Day that an organ was ready for them. In Memory of Christine (Tina) Borja (Media Arts ‘84)

 

November 1966-May 7, 2014

 

Christine Elizabeth (Tina) Borja born Nov, 1966 successfully transcended cancer on May 7, 2014. 
Tina was the proud mother of Gabriel and Jackson Borja, daughter of Rosa Glenn Reilly and Peter Van Deusen and adopted fathers, Tom Reilly and Max Regan, sister to Teresa and Katherine Van Deusen, aunt to Nika and Abby Perry, devoted partner to Larry Aycock, and true friend of her ex-husband Kim Borja. She leaves behind hundreds of beloved and adopted friends who were close to her heart. 
Tina was a poet, children's book author, editor, artist, instigator and inspiration to many. She was renowned for her wicked sense of humor and never lost it to the end. She was our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart. 
Professionally, she was proud to work as a Faculty Assistant at the Rice University Jones School of Business. Tina was also known to many for her years as Director of the Esperanza School in the Heights and the lives she touched there during her tenure. 
She was a graduate of the High School for The Performing Arts in Houston class of 1984.
Tina asked us to remember her by going out into the world and having an adventure. 
Her family is profoundly grateful for the love, generosity and support of Tina's wide community of friends. Tina's life will be celebrated on Saturday, May 17 at 2 PM at Unity Church on Unity Drive in Houston, TX .
